Sometimes it's better to not follow the horde and reveal everything to everyone. I started off just strumming my guitar and developed the verse. The chorus came to me while I was on an airplane. The first lyrics I had were "The oath of a liar...", and I knew the cadence of how I wanted to sing that bit, which became the pre-chorus. That kind of shaped the overall feel and narrative/story of the song.
I just remember being in a really good mood when I came up with the guitar riff. Life is short, folks. We all have to grow up, but not necessarily completely.
I've had this one lying around for a while. Just a bit of nostalgia for a childhood today's kids will never know.
